Scheduled to start on July 15
Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, CHIMEI's new production site in Gulei, Zhangzhou, China will begin production as scheduled on July 15. With the new annual capacity of 450,000 tons of ABS, CHIMEI will be able to provide its global customers and related industries with an abundant source of plastic materials as well as comprehensive services.
Zhangzhou CHIMEI Chemical, which was invested by CHIMEI Corporation and established in August 2018, is located in Fujian Gulei Petrochemical Complex. It is planned to build ABS, PS and PC production lines in three phases. Last year (2020), it encountered the COVID-19 pandemic during the construction of the ABS production plant. Fortunately, with the joint efforts of internal and external parties, the progress of the project has not been affected. It will be officially put into operation on July 15 as scheduled to meet the market’s increasing demand for ABS plastics.
Zhangzhou CHIMEI Chemical covers an area of 80 hectares. The new plant is equipped with the most advanced safety features and environmentally friendly facilities, making it a new-generation, high-performance plastics plant that is energy efficient, safe, and green.
