processingMethod
Extrusion, Pipe
A process where plastic is melted in a typical extrusion process then forced through an annular die. The extrudate is then pulled into a calibration sleeve or calibration disks that are within a water-filled vacuum tank to form the smooth and dimensionally accurate outside of the pipe. The pipe is pulled through additional cooling tanks until it is cool enough to be coiled onto a spool or cut into specific lengths and stored.
