Compression Molding
A method of molding in which a preheated plastic charge is placed in an open, heated mold. The mold is closed using high pressure in order to distribute the plastic throughout the mold cavity. Both thermosets and thermoplastics can be compression molded. This process is frequently used for large, composite moldings such as agricultural equipment, small boats, and personal watercraft hulls and decks.
